Role Overview
Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software components for highly scalable and reliable infrastructure supporting real-time communication and Copilot experiences. Contribute to security improvements across cloud services, including initiatives related to secure communication protocols and post-quantum cryptography readiness. Develop and optimize software to improve service performance, efficiency, and resource utilization, including opportunities involving hardware acceleration and low-level software optimization.
Develop and improve AI-driven workflows that leverage telemetry, logs, and traces to monitor service health, identify issues, support diagnostics, and automate remediation with appropriate engineering oversight. Investigate and troubleshoot software and production issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements that strengthen service reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with engineers and partner teams to understand technical requirements, contribute to design decisions, identify dependencies, and deliver reliable solutions across supported services and platforms.
Participate in the team's Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on-call rotation, responding to live-site incidents, supporting mitigation and resolution, and contributing to improvements in service reliability and supportability. Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, testing, and engineering best practices while identifying opportunities to improve software quality, maintainability, and development efficiency. Embody our culture and values Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Experience developing, testing, debugging, or maintaining production software using languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python. Understanding of distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, or cloud-native software architecture. Experience developing, operating, or contributing to distributed cloud services, with consideration for reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
Familiarity with AI agents, large language models (LLMs), agent orchestration, or AI-assisted development and automation workflows. Experience or familiarity with observability technologies, including telemetry, logging, tracing, diagnostics, or automated incident response. Understanding of software security concepts, including secure communication protocols, applied cryptography, or emerging technologies such as post-quantum cryptography.
Familiarity with performance engineering concepts, including profiling, debugging, resource optimization, or improving software efficiency. Experience or familiarity with .NET, Kubernetes, containerized applications, or cloud-native development environments. Experience collaborating with engineering teams to contribute to technical designs, resolve complex problems, and deliver reliable software solutions.
Experience exploring, evaluating, or applying emerging technologies to improve software development, automation, or engineering productivity.
